The Best Carne Asada Recipe

December 22, 2013 By: Eve Roberts1 Comment

I grew up in Southern California and lived on Mexican food. One of my favorite foods was carne asada. It could be purchased from any grocery store. When I moved to a small town in Colorado I found that no store carried it and people always asked me what is Carne Asada? Since I could no longer buy it from the store I made it my mission to come up with the best ever carne asada recipe.

The recipe is great because it is best if you make it the night before and it cooks very fast. This recipe feeds 5-7 people

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. ground oregano
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 3 pounds flank steak

The Best Carne Asada Recipe

1. Combine all of the ingredients into a glass bowl except the flank steak.

Bountiful Baskets
**Example of 1 bountiful basket + an italian pack add-on.

What is Bountiful Baskets?

Bountiful Baskets is a non-profit food co-op for individuals that want to have more fresh produce for less money. Each basket is $15 and comes with 50% fruit & 50% vegetables. You can upgrade to an organic produce basket for $10 more.  They also offer artisan breads and add-ons such as 40lbs of apples, 10lbs of asparagus, juice packs, mexican packs, and italian packs. The Italian add-on pack for example came with onions, garlic, squash, herbs, and eggplant.

Bountiful Baskets will typically give you some of your in season favorites such as apples, bananas, onions, and lettuce. In addition, they also give you new items to try such as persimmons, endive, jicama, and orange beets. I have a family of two and 1 basket will last us for 2 weeks. [Read more…]
